About Sam McLean

Better
Yourself

My teaching and training career spans over 25 years and I am passionate about breaking down barriers to learning, genuinely believing that we all have the capacity and ability to grow and improve.  This might be achieved via academic achievements but, to reach our full potential, we often have to work on our own inner demons and the challenges they present to us.  I began my journey when I entered university, as a mature student, and this gave me confidence in myself that I could perform academically.  However, I struggled with imposter syndrome and this initially hampered my career development. I began to realise that I needed to work on me and, therein, began my own personal development journey.

That journey has taken me to many places, some more comfortable than others and, of course, life has thrown me all sorts of mountains to climb in the meantime.

My own view is that life is just like an Ikea flat pack that often comes with confusing diagrams and instructions.  Taking that analogy, our life is not given with full instructions of how to live it, we have to try and decipher how to get through, we often do not know where to start we try and set out the components parts, see how they fit together.  Our aim being to, hopefully, construct a life worth living.  In this process we can feel adrift, overwhelmed and fearful we may never make sense of it all.  I believe we can navigate these challenges when we embrace this as a continual journey and not a ‘quick fix.’  Engaging with new techniques, what I call ‘tool box tips’ can really help us to realise our full potential and be the very best version of ourselves.

I believe that both myself, and my team, have the skill set to support others in their academic and personal development journey.  We can guarantee a calmness of approach, empathetic support and a genuine care for the wellbeing of others, we look forward to working with you soon!

I believe that I have the skill set to support others in their personal development journey, whether that be via short courses that can be relayed to teams, or Springboard, for which I am a licenced practitioner.  I have a passion for the retreats I do as I am able to witness true transformations over quite short periods of time. Women leave with a journal that they have started and have, often, caught glimpse of the future person they wish to be.

I can guarantee a calmness of approach, empathetic support and a genuine care for the wellbeing of others.  I look forward to meeting you soon.
